Raquel Lyrio Sato
PhD Student in Arts Studies and Practices at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), under the supervision of Professor Audrey-Kristel Barbeau. Founder and artistic director of the Allegrissimo Vocal Ensemble — over 100 musical interventions in hospitals, long-term care facilities, and healthcare settings in Montréal.
With more than 15 years of experience in choral conducting, vocal pedagogy, and music-based interventions in health contexts, her work bridges artistic practice and scholarly inquiry. She is affiliated with the RCMS — UQAM and the research group Santé avec Art — UFRJ.

Research Title
"The experience of the Allegrissimo vocal ensemble and the development of a pedagogical guide for choir conductors in healthcare settings."
Investigates the relational and pedagogical dimensions of collective singing in healthcare contexts. Introduces the notion of "musical presence" as a relational state emerging from embodied vocal alignment.

Artistic Practice
Founder, artistic director, and conductor of the Allegrissimo Vocal Ensemble, based in Montréal. The ensemble conducts musical interventions in hospitals, long-term care facilities (CHSLDs), and healthcare settings, with over 100 interventions completed to date. Allegrissimo's practice constitutes the central object of Raquel's doctoral research, which investigates the relational and pedagogical dimensions of collective singing in institutional care contexts.
